What does the repair estimate include? (For all devices)

The repair price estimate includes both replacement parts and labor/service.

Do the repairs come with a warranty?

There is a 30 day warranty after every device repair.

I need my phone repaired as quickly as possible. How fast can you do it?

Depending on the damage and repair we can do a same day service repair.

Is it cheaper to repair my phone myself at home?

Opting to buy the right tools, yes. Price can range around $300 or more if repaired at home. Although, this can be dangerous, let alone difficult. Best to leave it to the professionals.

What is the success rate to fix a water damaged device?

The repair success rate for water damaged is normally about 75%. Sometimes there is nothing we can do but we notify you before you ever pay us for our time.

I don't know what is wrong with my device. How would I know?

We charge a 45$ diagnostic fee. You can bring your device when you walk in or schedule an appointment. From there we will tell you what is wrong with your device and how we are going to fix it, including a quote.

How long does it take for my device to be repaired?

Depending what type of repair and other times depending if we have the part at shop. It can be same day repair, less than 24 hours or if a part needs to be ordered then it can take 1-4 business days. This excludes the weekends.

How much is it to repair my device?

Depends on what type of device you have and model. A diagnostic fee will be included ONLY if you don’t know what the issue is. Other times ordered parts may be included and needed. Then there will be the service cost.

Can I supply the part and have Tech Labz do the repair?

Of course! But we cannot honor our 30 day warranty with the repair. Labor charges will be included using customer supplied parts.

Do I need to make an appointment to have my device repaired?

It’s not necessary, but we recommend it. You can schedule on our website. You can call, text, yelp or email us for any questions or concerns regarding your device. Walk ins are welcomed as well.

Why is my phone slower after updating to the newest version of software?

Usually older devices have been known to slow down if there has been a recent software update installed. The phone’s hardware is not matched to support the new features of the operating system.

I dropped my phone in water. What should I do?

Dry the outside of the phone carefully trying not to press any of the buttons. If possible, remove the battery to decrease the chances of a short. From there you can take the phone and parts to us so we can take it from there!

Do I pay before or after the service?

You can pay before or after service! You can also pay half of the amount at first when you bring in your device. Then you can pay the rest of the amount once the service is done.

Can Tech Labz backup data on my device?

Yes we can! As long as we have your permission and access.

When should a phone's battery be replaced?

A cell phone’s battery begins to deteriorate after 400 charging cycles. To reach that point it’s usually after 1-2 years of regular usage.

My phone is not charging. How can I tell if it's the battery or charging port?

If your phone does not charge altogether, check if the charging port is loose or dirty. If it is then its the charging port. If an aux cord can be firmly plugged in then it’s most likely battery.

How would I know if my device remains private and protected?

We technicians avoid anything that is private, personal, and anything that provides sensitive information. Protecting the privacy of your data is an important priority for us.

Can someone else collect my device?

Yes you can. As long as you notify us beforehand.

Can you repair any other device besides phones, computers, tablets and gaming consoles?

Call, text, email or setup an appointment so we can further discuss about your specific device.

Why shouldn't I just buy a new device?

Having that consultation is to determine the best options for your and your device’s needs. Sometimes, upgrading to a new computer system is the best option for you.

Will I lose any of my documents, pictures or other data when you repair my computer?

Data protection is always priority at Tech Labz. As long as your hard drive and data integrity are still in good shape our technicians will complete backup of your system and data. If there is a problem with your data on your system, we will notify you the problem and discuss options.

How did my computer get a virus?

There are over 150,000 new forms of viruses and malware released every single day. Most common for them to get into your system are through downloads of software from illegal download sites, vulnerabilities in your installed software, clicking on suspicious links in emails or compromised websites.

How long is the diagnostic service?

Sometimes it can take the technicians a few minutes to an hour or two depending if they are in the middle or ending of a repair.

What is Tech Labz repair process/procedure?

You can come in or contact us through phone or email. Bring your device that needs repairing and tell us what the issue is. If you bring in a device and don’t know what’s wrong with it, then we can do a diagnostic service. (This will be included along with parts ordered and repair service). From there we can give you an estimate. If wanting to proceed you have options on how you’d like to pay. You leave your device with us and our technicians will keep contact with you if they need any more information from you for your device and once done repairing they notify you when finished.

Do you sell devices and parts?

We only sell accessories for certain devices and smaller electronics. Ultra Mobile and Lyca Mobile.

I need to transfer all my data from a previous device to a new one. Can Tech Labz do it for me?

Yes, we can transfer all your data, including music collection, photos and documents. Although, keep in mind the time it will take depending on how much data needs to be transferred.
